“Don’t run away from challenges, run over them.”
Joan Benoit samuelson

I think if you asked any runner why they run, they would tell you not only for physical benefits, but the mental benefits as well. For me, running is my “safe” place. It’s a time when I’m most at peace with what’s going on around me. I can quiet the noise in my head. Running takes me to a place where I’m calmer and much happier.
For a long time, I was embarrassed and quiet about my struggles with mental health. I thought I was weak because of it. But through running, I learned how strong I really am, and I am no longer ashamed to admit this. Running has been my therapy for years, and like the air we breathe, I need it. So I ask, why do you run?

The mental and physical benefits and the life-long friendships ❤🏃♀️
I agree!
I run as an outlet. Just me, the road and my friends. I made some of my best friends running. We are a team, we listen to each other, we comfort and encourage each other. Through it all running is always there no matter how slow or fast you go and so are those friends right along side you. Thanks melissa and friends for all those years of running with me!
Friendships, challenges , time outdoors ❤️
For the ‘runners high’! Running has helped me in so many ways physically and mentally but the best thing that has come from running are the friendships I’ve formed over the years!
